Dr. Brian Katz
Registered Psychologist

Dr. Brian Katz is a Registered Psychologist (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC #1625.) For the past 20 years, his clinical practice has focused on working with children and youth with a variety of support needs, including FASD, Autism, ADHD, prenatal substance exposure, and mental health concerns. At FDC, Dr. Katz conducts assessments to support families in understanding their child’s strengths as well as areas where they may require additional supports.

A strong believer in the ability of research to make a difference in the lives of children and youth, Dr. Katz holds an appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Victoria. His research interests include cognitive rehabilitation in children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children and youth with disabilities and their families. He is the author of numerous academic journal articles and presentations.

Dr. Katz received a Ph.D. in clinical-child psychology from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and completed his clinical internship at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now The Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital) in Chicago, IL. He conducted his post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University Alpert Medical School in Providence, RI.
